Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus Debuts Virtual Holiday Special

The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus will present its 81st annual Holiday Concert in virtual format. Fresh off performing for the second consecutive year with  the President at the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., the chorus will present a
virtual Holiday Special with religious and secular season favorites. Due to the pandemic, the presentation will be virtual and the concert will debut on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 6:30PM MST on YouTube. See link below: 

Additional airings will continue throughout the season on YouTube as well as broadcast on KOLD-TV Ch 13:

  • Saturday, December 19 – 3:30AM

  • Sunday, December 27 – 12:00AM

The thirty-minute special was filmed in Tucson at White Stallion Ranch, Hacienda Del Sol and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Under the musical direction of Dr. Julian Ackerley, The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus Touring Chorus and Tucson Arizona Young Men’s Ensemble are featured in a festive compilation of Christmas and Hannukah selections including traditional favorites. The show is dedicated to Gene Ackerley, father of Dr. Julian Ackerley, who assisted the chorus with advertising beginning in 1980 – who passed in January and whose 98th birthday is December 17.

Songs on the 81st Annual Holiday Special include Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen; Jingle Bells, Christmas Song; S’Vivon; Sing We Now of Christmas; White Christmas; Hark, The Herald Angels Sing; Star Carol; See Amid the
Winter’s Snow; and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.
