The Coronet is moving from one historic location to another this summer.
Owners of the longtime 4th Avenue restaurant announced that it will be moving from their current Coronado Hotel location to the former site of the Cushing Street Bar near the Tucson Convention Center.
The Coronet’s last day on 4th Avenue will be June 2nd and will reopen at the new location after monsoon, according to their website.
The Coronado hotel, home to The Coronet, was built in 1928 and functioned as a hotel until the mid 1970’s. The Coronado Cafe was the name of the original diner that occupied the space.
Cushing Street Bar had been known as a popular place for jazz in Tucson.
