Honey Chocolate Popcorn. All sorts of yum!

This is like some ultimate level popcorn here.

Popcorn good. Honey good. Chocolate good. Put them all together (with a little butter) and you’ve gone from good to AMAZING! Before sitting down to watch a movie or game, take about 20 minutes before and whip up a batch of Honey Chocolate Popcorn. Your taste buds will thank you for the mix of sweet honey, salty popcorn and slightly bitter chocolate.

INGREDIENTS

1 bag of your favorite popcorn, popped

3 Tbsp. butter

1 tsp. salt

1/3 c. honey

1 bar dark chocolate (your choice between 70% – 90% chocolate)

DIRECTIONS

Melt butter in small saucepan. Add salt and stir in honey. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and let it cool a few minutes. Spread popcorn out on a parchment paper lined cookie tray. Pour honey mixture over popcorn. Toss popcorn to get honey on to each kernel. Bake popcorn in a preheated 350° oven for nine minutes. Toss the popcorn every three minutes and watch it so it doesn’t burn.

While the popcorn is baking, prep the dark chocolate. Using a double boiler or a microwave, melt the chocolate. Once the popcorn comes out of the oven, transfer to a serving bowl. Keep tossing the popcorn to keep it from sticking to each other. Drizzle the chocolate on to the popcorn. Use as little or as much of the chocolate as you like. Keep tossing to make sure chocolate is evenly distributed.

Bonus!: Dice a banana and an orange and add to the mixture right before you drizzle the chocolate. You get to enjoy some added flavors and textures and relish some healthy fruit.
