Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Fish and Chips Recipe

The Gourmet Girls give us their secret recipe for their fish batter recipe!

The Gourmet Girls share their  Gluten Free take on the classic dish.

Ingredients: 

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 Tablespoons Essence (recipe follows)
  • 1.5 cups classic flour blend
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 4  teaspoons baking powder
  • 1- 12 Angry Orchard dry hard cider
  • 4 (6-ounce) fillets fresh cod

Directions:
Add the first 6 ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined. Dip cod into the batter and allow any excess batter to drip off prior to adding to the preheated oil. Fry the fish until browned on both sides.

Emeril’s ESSENCE Creole Seasoning (also referred to as Bayou Blast):

  • 5/8 c paprika
  • 1/2 c  salt
  • 1/2 c garlic powder
  • 1/4 c black pepper
  • 1/4 c onion powder
  • 1/4 c cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 c dried oregano or italian seasoning

Mix all together well, store in airtight container
