SEDONA, AZ (AZFamily)— It’s one of the busiest times of year in the Red Rocks city of Sedona. Springtime brings visitors from all over to hike and experience the one-of-a-kind beauty, which also helps drive its economy.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, about three million people visit Sedona every year bringing in $1 billion to the local economy.

It also supports more than 10,000 jobs, and according to the city, springtime is one of the busiest times of the season.

Mason Bradshaw’s family owns Sedona Jeep Tours, and he is one of the few people born in Sedona.

He said Spring is so popular because of the good weather and extra visitors from spring break. So, Spring is one of the best times for local businesses as people come from all over.

“Everyone tried to get as much business as they can this time of year, and we’re kinda getting towards the tail end of it now,” Bradshaw said. “We had a successful [Spring], one of the best ones we’ve seen in a long time.”

However, this industry has seen much growth over the past two decades.

Bradshaw said they’ve seen the city grow and change, and he knows there is a love-hate relationship between locals and tourism, but there are ways the city is working to address it.

“It’s increased quite a bit, but I think the city’s doing a fine job trying to control the traffic, coming up with new ideas, trying different things.”

The city is also working on building a parking garage and has widened roads to help with the increase of tourism.
