This Spring, Arizona State Parks is offering a guided hike series of the Ocotillo Trail. This trail just opened up last year and was built in response to visitor requests for additional and more challenging trails at Kartchner Caverns State Park. The trail is 1.75 miles through the foothills of the Whetstone Mountains. To access the trail, visitors must use the Foothills Loop Trail, bringing the total loop distance to 3.25 miles.
The Park is offering a guided hike with an experienced park ranger on March 30th at 10am. This trail is considered challenging, so you to make sure to bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes, and to dress appropriately for the weather.
Park entry is $7/vehicle, no additional cost for the hike. Leashed dogs are welcome. Hike may be cancelled due to weather, please check conditions before coming out.The guided hike will also be offered April 27th and May 25th. For more info on this event, click here.
